Duro-Last and the ARRA:
High-Performance Roofing Solutions
The American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, better known as the federal stimulus package that was signed into law in February 2009, includes billions of dollars in funding for constructing and improving government facilities at all levels.
The Duro-Last roof system is the ideal roofing solution for any government building application, for several reasons:
- Our white membrane is part of a complete high-performance roofing system. As a highly-reflective, cool roofing product, it can help reduce energy costs - up to 40% in some locations. A new Duro-Last roof can help address the "green" requirements for federal facilities. In addition, the Duro-Last roofing system is "solar-ready," and can accommodate the wide variety of rooftop photovoltaic equipment on the market today.
- High-performance building components are evaluated by a number of industry organizations. Duro-Last is a charter member of the EPA's ENERGY STAR® Roof Products Program and the Cool Roof Rating Council. Duro-Last is also a member of the USGBC, whose Leadership in Environmental Education and Design (LEED®) program promotes sustainability by recognizing building performance with respect to key areas of human and environmental health. The Duro-Last roofing system can help buildings attain LEED credits in several ways. Visit www.duro-last.com/coolzone/leed.asp for more information.
- Energy savings from a high-performance roofing system helps reduce a roof's life-cycle costs. So do savings from a roof's durability over time. A long-lasting, high-performance system delivers a lower cost of ownership spread out over a longer period of time, requiring fewer repeated expenses related to maintenance, repair, and replacement. Many Duro-Last roofs are continuing to deliver watertight protection after more than 20 years of service.
- Duro-Last roofs have been specified on building projects at all levels of government - federal, state, and local - across the entire United States. We are on the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) schedule, which can help expedite federal purchases of the Duro-Last roofing system. Duro-Last is also approved for the Texas (TXMAS) and Ohio state purchasing programs.
- Duro-Last is perfect for renovation projects. A new, lightweight Duro-Last roof can often be installed over an existing roof without an expensive tear-off or disruption to daily building operations.
- The high-performance Duro-Last system is installed by a nationwide network of more than 2,000 authorized roofing contractors, and every roof installation is inspected by a Duro-Last Quality Assurance technical representative. Duro-Last has the largest team of tech reps of any roofing system manufacturer in the United States. They inspect the quality of every installed component prior to issuing our industry-leading warranty.
